Eat More Often

One thing that you don't want to do on any weight loss plan is to go hungry. If you do that, you are just going to sit down and overeat, which is not going to help. You want to eat more small meals each day, watching not only what you are eating, but the portion size too.

As I referred to in my last post, healthy snacks are allowed. So eat a good breakfast, have a mid-morning snack, lunch, a late afternoon snack, dinner, then a small a snack if needed. Just don't eat too close to bedtime!

By doing this, your body gets the nutrition it needs and is not wanting. So pay attention to your body, if your stomach is growling, you need to eat a little more, just make sure it's the right foods that you are eating!

Eat Healthy Snacks

If you are like me, the stomach starts growling late morning before lunch, and late afternoon before dinner. Time for a snack! But you know eating between meals isn't a good thing, or so you've been told. How about a healthy snack that will hold you over, but is also good for you?

So instead of reaching for the candy, chips or ice cream, think fruits and vegetables. A handle of grapes or a small apple will work. Some small carrots or some celery will also work. They will fill your stomach, and are actually good for your body too.

If you haven't had a chance, make sure to check out The Diet Solution Program on the right side of the page. You'll get even more ideas on healthy snacks to eat that will help you reach your weight loss goal. You don't have to stop eating, just make sure you are eating the right things!

The Heat Is On!

It is really hot here in the Midwest, as it is in most parts of the country. How can you exercise with it being so warm? There are a few ways to do this, just be imaginative!

First, if you are going to walk or run outside, do it in the early morning or later in the evening. You don't want to be out when the sun is blazing. Also, look at going to a mall where it's air conditioned. You can walk and window shop at the same time.

Do you have access to a pool, either private or public? You can go and get a workout in by swimming. You'll stay cool and be doing something good for your body too. Check at your public pool, a lot of them have open swims for just adults, so you don't have to get splashed by children jumping in and out of the pool.

Also, make sure to drink a lot of water! We have talked before about drinking water instead of soda, and with it being hot, that's even more important. Take a water bottle with you when you walk or are doing outside activities. Water will help hydrate your body, and it will also fill you up, so you won't eat as much, if the heat hasn't zapped your appetite!

So stay cool, but stay in shape. Don't use the heat as an excuse to not exercise, just be creative in how you do it!

Get Some Exercise

One adjustment I needed to make was getting some exercise. Now I'm sure you are just like me and are saying "I just don't have the time for that!". That was what I said at the beginning, but the important thing is to start a routine. It doesn't have to be long, even 15-20 minutes 3 times a week will make a difference. You don't need to run out and get a gym membership either. I just do some basic exercises at home, like sit-ups, toe-touches, push-ups, leg raises, and use some light weights too. I also go out walking, which gives me time to think and make plans.

I know, you are still thinking, "I don't have the time". But think about the time you spend watching TV or sitting around after dinner. Have a dog? Take them for a walk, they will love it! Or walk with your spouse or significant other. You can even get up a little earlier in the morning to get started with this. Once you get started, it will become part of your routine. Not only will you start reducing your weight, but you will also start feeling healthier. That's a great way to build up your confidence!

Believe in Yourself!

One thing that you must do to be successful in losing weight is to believe in yourself. You can do this! Stay positive, and keep reminding yourself that you WILL do this. Keep the negative thoughts out of your mind. Temptations will crop up, but as you become more accustomed to your new way of eating, you WILL overcome them.

Now, there will be times that you are tempted and eat something that you aren't supposed to, like a piece of birthday cake at a party. But you know what? So what! Get yourself back on track after that. We are all human, and a little treat once in awhile won't destroy your diet.

That's what I find great about Isabel's plan. You can still eat many of the foods you enjoy, while losing weight at the same time. How great is that!

Starting Off Slowly

The one thing that I would highly recommend for any diet plan is starting off slowly. You are more likely to stick to a plan if you ease yourself into it, rather than going cold turkey. For example, start switching over from drinking soda by substituting water at 1 meal a day. As you get more comfortable doing this, you can then increase the times you drink water rather than soda.

If you try to give up all of your treats at once, I have found it very hard to stick to that. Instead, retrain your body and your mind slowly, so that it just becomes a habit. Introducing healthy fruits and vegetables into your diet to replace candy, chips and other snacks will help you not only lose the weight you want, but also make yourself healthier!

Ready to get Started With a New You?

Well, the 4th of July holiday weekend is over, and summer is approaching it's mid-point. But you know what, you still have plenty of time to start eating right and getting your body into shape! There's still plenty of time left to get your body into beach shape and show it off. But YOU have to take the first step and start, it's not going to happen by itself!

So do you want to start eating healthy? Do you want to reduce your weight and start feeling better not only physically, but better about yourself overall? Make sure to click on Isabel's book in the right column, it will provide you with some great information.

I can tell you from experience, I tried going on diets all the time, only to fall by the wayside. But Isabel's plan is different, it's really not a diet at all! You can still eat a lot of your favorite foods, but you will be shown what is good for you to eat and what to avoid. It's that simple, and you will be on your way to feeling and looking great!

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi!

You have found my blog about a diet plan to reduce weight. If you are like me, this was something I knew I needed to do, but kept putting it off. Finally, after I had increased from a size 34 pants to a size 36, and even those were starting to get tight, I knew I had to do something!

So congratulations on starting your weight loss journey! I'm just an ordinary person like you, trying to get my weight down. As I have lost over 12 pounds in 1 month, I think I am well on my way, and you can do the same thing I am. The first thing is to make a decision to start eating healthier. I mean, weight loss isn't going to happen magically! Once you are committed, it will make things a lot easier.

The plan I am currently using is The Diet Solution Program by Isabel De Los Rios. You can find it in the Links section on the right side of the screen. Check out the videos and free resources on her site, you won't be disappointed!

So bookmark this blog and check back often, as I will update you on my progress and other tips I have picked up along the way. Good luck to you, I know you can do this!
